JulRush at Studio 44 – Art as a Gift with Forward Momentum
As the year’s darkest weeks settle like a quiet backdrop over the city, Studio 44 opens its traditional JulRush – an exhibition and holiday market where the gallery’s artists present works in a range of styles and price points. Let Studio 44 be a pause in the holiday frenzy. Here, painting, printmaking, objects, photography, and experimental formats converge – all born from the vibrant, self-organized art scene Studio 44 has cultivated over many years.
Instead of routine consumption, visitors are offered the chance to make a more thoughtful choice: to give something lasting, with integrity and a truly human imprint.
Art as a holiday gift is not only a cherished gesture – it’s a sustainable alternative in a time dominated by short-lived products. It supports artistic work and offers a way to invest in long-term culture rather than mass-produced items without history.
JulRush highlights art as a form of responsibility: for the origin of materials, for the relationship between creator and viewer, and for the circulation of value that goes beyond the economic. Whoever buys a work acquires not just an object, but a process, a thought, a trace of human engagement.
The exhibition runs from December 12–21. Welcome to discover, converse, sip hot apple cider with cinnamon, and perhaps find this year’s most personal holiday gift.
