Ana María Almada De Álvarez

My artistic practice is based on the phenomenology of the body. The body is the site from which the world is created and onto which the world is projected.

I explore how aesthetic experience emerges in the interplay between place, memory, matter, and affect. I do not attempt to “represent” the world, but rather to let it reveal itself in infinite subtle forms: a fold, a mask, an absence, an enclosed gesture.

For me, aesthetic experience is not something we see or interpret, but the very vessel of our being.
