Ana María Beaulieu Laguardia

My name is Ana María Beaulieu. I am originally from Uruguay and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Montevideo. I have experience teaching children, teenagers, and adults over the past 20 years in Barcelona. I have exhibited both individually and in groups since 1982. As an artist, I use mixed techniques including oil, printmaking, collage, and assemblage.

A REVIEW:
Things consigned by anonymous hands to the dustbins of oblivion—the gutter, the terrain vague—rescued from there by the artist, kept in her studio, perhaps for years on end, and then finally brought into the light, awakened from their slumber and given a role as the dramatis personae of a new mise en scène. The Pleasure Principle might be the name of the play. […] Ana María's touch is deft: the limits of the stage coincide with the edges of the frame; her management of her extras is sure, there is only one place that's right for them, and they're in it.
