Karl Jansson
Karl Jansson’s painting often explores the decaying urban landscape. In his works, places marked by the passage of time frequently reappear—environments where wind, water, and wear have left their traces. Light and reflections are central elements. Through layers of oil paint applied over a spray-paint base, he creates surfaces intended to capture atmosphere and a sense of material presence.
In parallel, he works under the signature “Moin” as a muralist on a more monumental scale. Here both the subject matter and expression shift: inspiration is often drawn from pop and nerd culture, and the style moves toward a more graphic line drawing with “1980s colors.” As a mural artist, Karl Jansson has participated in several international street art festivals. He studied at Konstfack and Sörängens Folk High School, and his artistic practice brings together the reflective nature of studio painting with the direct and public energy of street art.
