The fragment is not only what has been broken. It is what remains. What insists on its presence despite the rupture. Debris gathers, not to be pieced back together, but to bear witness. A piece of something larger, wreckage that still breathes. A splinter, a shard, a crumb — a sliver of broken matter that lingers when the whole can no longer be restored.
