The exhibition, consisting of three solo shows, is a thematic collaboration between the artists Jannike Brantås, Masoud Shahsavari, and Penja Hesselbäck. It continues an earlier project titled Fifth Force of Nature, which artistically interpreted a theoretical natural force alongside the four known ones. In Dark Matter Illuminations, we once again aim to explore, at the intersection of art and science, another unresolved question in physics: whether so-called dark matter exists. There are indications that it does, but since dark matter cannot be directly observed, its composition remains unknown.

The exhibition, previously shown in a version at Uppsala Artists’ Club, seeks to interpret existential questions while also contributing to a more developed understanding of the unknown.
