A series of paintings based on the motif of a striped undulating fabric. Repeated and mirrored, the motif creates patterns, symmetry, and abstract compositions. Symmetry has a suggestive power, it affects the brain and triggers the subconscious.

Andréa Hösel’s artistry is closely intertwined with the various possibilities of painting. In installations, graphic prints, or as in this exhibition: paintings in oil on canvas, she works with painting based on the properties of the materials.
