EQUILIBRIUM – Power of Water
Multi-channel audio-video installation, loop
Water fascinates, terrifies, completes, fills, and decides. It asks nothing, it simply is. It balances, remembers, is me, is the world, is the source of life and death. Water is wisdom.
In our lives, water plays not only a physical but also a symbolic role. It is an element that balances, transforms, and remembers. Its presence is an indispensable source of life, yet it can be dangerous and demands respect. Water is a substance that connects us to our roots and our future, to our memories and dreams.
The “Equilibrium” exhibition invites reflection on how water shapes our experiences and how we shape its future.

Katarzyna Piórek
The Audio-Video Installation: “Equilibrium – Power of Water” was created during the Turning The Tide residency and exhibited at the Institute of Urban Culture in Gdańsk, on the historic wall of the Radunia River canal, built by the Teutonic Knights. Through this site-specific artwork, the artist Katarzyna Piórek invites reflection on how water shapes our experiences and how we shape its future—what it means to us and how we perceive it. Starting October 18th, the installation will be presented in the gallery space of Studio 44 in the project room. This marks a continuation of the ongoing process, now engaging with a new space and a new city—Stockholm, where water is a fundamental element of the landscape.
