A members\u2019 exhibition featuring participants from Studio 44 and Kapsylen<\/span><\/p>\n

In these turbulent times, Studio 44 presents a generous and multifaceted exhibition. The title\u2014a line from a song on Leonard Cohen\u2019s final album\u2014feels especially poignant, both in the lead-up to the holidays and because every work of art leaves an impact on both its creator and its audience. The need for cultural practitioners who provide space for both emotion and reflection is greater than ever; after all, where else are we to turn with our hearts?<\/span><\/p>\n

A broad spectrum of techniques and themes highlights the diversity and versatility of the participating members. The exhibition underscores the importance of having a space that enables cultural workers to create at a high level and present their work without costly intermediaries\u2014a space that allows for experimentation and time for contemplation. It serves as a form of creative “basic research” conducted on the practitioners’ own terms\u2014a true heart of artistic practice. Come and experience an exhibition where the person behind the work receives the vast majority of the proceeds, where art is something more than a mere engine for efficiency, and where the artistic merit of a work matters more than profit.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
