Studio 44 participates in Supermarket 2009
Welcome to visit Studio 44’s stand at Supermarket. Here we show Inger Bergström and Andrea Hvistendahl as well as our guest artist Isabel Löfgren from Brazil.
Isabel Löfgren was born in Sweden but grew up in Rio. Today she works as an artist and visual researcher in Rio de Janeiro and in Singapore. Isabel has participated in several exhibitions around the world. “Accumulations”, which she shows at Supermarket 2009, is a series of conceptual photographs consisting of a concentration of thousands of small images taken from Internet search engines. The photographs examine image exaggeration and loneliness in today’s digital world.
Inger Bergström is active in Stockholm. She works in a field where the material’s expression and charges have a prominent and often significant role. The focus is on the three-dimensional and spatial, often with textiles as a kind of building material.
Andrea Hvistendahl works with sculptural objects, photography, installations, and workshop projects. In her work, the process is characterized by different ways of involving the outside world, it is mainly political and social issues that drive her artistic activity. The materials she chooses often have their own charge; circuit boards, crystal balls, military helmets, cords, oysters and game pieces, etc.
